Acute conditions:

It is interesting to note that homeopathy remedies can bring calm and comfort by alleviating intense fear or anguish to those who have just suffered from acute trauma. For instance, Aconite Napellus, a medicine prepared from the mountain plant, is known to comfort fright and fear of death. It can make one relax, relive fear and cope up with the fearful situation better. In my opinion, millions of people world would have felt better with some doses of Aconite on the 12th or 13th September, especially people in the US.

Cantharis, a medicine prepared from Spanish fly, is another remedy to be used in the hospitals or roadside camps for the cases of burns. Cantharis has stupendous powers to not only relive the excruciating burning pains of the victims but also to enhance the healing of the wounds. Cantharis also helps prevent infection. Cantharis 30c may be used safely as a first aid remedy in case of acute burns even without a medical supervision.

Insomnia or acute sleeplessness may be treated with Coffea or Opium or Kali Phosphoricum.

There is a wide range of homeopathic medicines for injuries of various kinds, used depending of the kind of trauma. For example, injury to bones may require Ruta Graveolens or Symphytum, severe injury to the eyes may need Ledum Palustre, general injury will call for Arnica Montana, while the patients with head injury are strongly recommended Arnica, Natrum sulphuricum to avoid long term bad effects of brain injury.

It may be noted with emphasis that homeopathic medicine are known to help patients who may be in coma after head injury, due to cerebral hemorrhage to concussion. Above medicines may safely be used in 30c or 200c potency as first aid measure.

Children who have seen the terrorism on the television and have heard the family discussing impending war are big victims of psychological trauma. It infuses fright and insecurity in them. Stramonium, prepared from Thorn-apple, is a child's friend in the time of frightful nights.

The victims or the relatives may be helped with some doses of Ignatia Amara, prepared from St. Ignatius's bean for severe form of acute depression and grief. Those who are in the state of shock would find amazing help with Ignatia.
